Organic vs. anorganic minerals

1. Are inorganic minerals positively charged?

Are organic minerals (e.g. in plants), always negatively charged? The first order of business when discussing "inorganic" vs. "organic" minerals is to clarify the fact that we are talking about the "source", not the minerals themselves. In the strictest terms, all minerals are inorganic, but the term organic is used more or less to associate these minerals with their plant (organic), source. Inorganic minerals can be either positively, or negatively charged depending on their characteristic atomic structure which is identified by their arrangement of protons, neurons and electrons. Once cannot say that all inorganic minerals are either positive, or all are negative. Organic minerals, follow generally the same rule as inorganic, with some exceptions. When an organism assimilates a mineral, it's ionic structure is sometimes altered by the organism in an attempt to devour, digest, and use the mineral. The individual minerals in our colloidal formula may appear as positive or negative, but the overall solution is found to be negatively charged. When a mineral enters into a colloidal solution it's ions may separate, and recombine to form "salts", or loose associations with other minerals. In doing so the original charge of the mineral or element supposedly remains unchanged, however, our formula is the first to my knowledge which occurs naturally, and includes such a broad spectrum of minerals and elements. In laboratory testing of mineral charge, only a few minerals were combined into the same colloidal solution and known reactions were observed. As an example the combination of Na+(sodium positive) and Cl- (chloride negative), yields common table salt, which retains the positive charge of it's parent Sodium element in the body. The results of this, and similar experiments were used to predict the reactions of all minerals and elements, which is a fallacy.

Trace Mineral Supplementation and The Effect On Total Nutrient Serum Levels

ABSTRACT. The action of trace minerals as catalysts in a plethora of biochemical bodily functions has long been known.

Our goal was to determine the effect of a rapidly absorbed trace mineral source on the serum levels of the full spectrum of known nutrients.

Our testing program employed the use of 96 volunteers ranging in age from 23 to 81 years. Some of these individuals were of general good health while others indicated physical problems which ranged from minor to major chronic disease conditions.

The only common criteria was that all participants had to have been taking some form of vitamin/mineral supplementation on a regular basis prior to beginning this study. Samples of nutrient serum levels were taken at the outset as well as several times throughout the day, each day of the program.

We found that even though all participants had been taking nutrients, the addition of trace mineral supplementation provided a marked increase in nutrition retention and availability.

COLLOIDAL MINERALS - FACT AND MYTH

With the tremendous success of trace mineral products in the marketplace there naturally will be differences of opinion regarding type, form, source, etc. Unfortunately, most of this 'controversy' comes from the marketing departments of various firms attempting to cast aspersions on competing products.

Many of the companies currently selling liquid mineral supplements have jumped on the bandwagon very recently, doing so with little or no knowledge of the product they are promoting. It is tragic that the biggest source of nutritional information available to the public is the marketing hype delivered by companies whose goal is to simply sell a product rather than provide an education and information source to the clientele they service.

Having worked intimately with mineral supplements for over 20 years, it is amazing to read some companies literature, much of which contains statements which have little or no basis of fact. When you look at a piece of 'negative' material about liquid colloidal minerals, you will very often find, upon reading far enough, that whomever is putting this out is also, just by 'coincidence’, selling a competing product.

This special report is offered in an attempt to clarify some of the confusion and concerns the public has regarding the use of liquid mineral supplements.

More On Mineral Depletion

Perhaps the best summary is by Dr. William A. Albrecht, Chairman of the Department of Soils at the University of Missouri, who said;

"A declining soil fertility, due to a lack of organic material, major elements, and trace minerals, is responsible for poor crops and in turn for pathological conditions in animals fed deficient foods from such soils, and that mankind is no exception."

Dr. Albrecht goes further to unequivocally lay the blame:

"N P K formulas, as legislated and enforced by State Departments of Agriculture, mean malnutrition, attack by insects, bacteria and fungi, weed takeover, crop loss in dry weather, and general loss of mental acuity in the population, leading to degenerative metabolic disease and early death."

A Special Focus On The Value of Organic, Plant-Derived Minerals

As children we're taught to eat a well-balanced diet consisting of four major food groups. As adults we've realized that this advice, while admirable and a good starting place, is partly responsible for a nation of woefully undernourished citizens. According to Dr. Gary Price Todd, M.D., the human body requires at least 60 minerals (70 is preferable) for optimal health. Additionally, it needs all the essential vitamins, amino acids, and fatty acids - over 90 in all.
